So the story starts when my friend and I went on a vacation! They were bored, and as a massive book fan, they decided to bring their e-reader. Something which I personally haven’t seen before. I mean, I heard of them, and I saw people using them at the beach, but I didn’t get a chance to actually use one or see how they work.

Hellooo and welcome back to another post on this amazing blog that I definitely keep updating consistently, mhm.

Ok, but seriously, I want to give an update on what I have been doing and why I have not been putting as many posts as I would like to.

BUT FIRST!! With every Christmas, you know what comes as well? Advent of Code!!

<tags>christmas,advent-of-code,golang,pretendo,wiiu,homebrew,celeste,docker,hypixelskyblock,project,updates,2025</tags>

“Living in the present moment creates the experience of eternity.” - Deepak Chopra

<tags>quotes</tags>

Closure of Costume Client

So… Today it’s been around a Year since I started the Costume Client project.

And after a lot of thinking, I have decided to archive the Costume Client Project.

This project was made with the sole purpose of providing a way for the CatWar community to create and use their own costumes in their game.

We went from just me using it to a handful of people using it, which I never expected, considering I didn’t manage to share it with the community because of a small roadblock I encountered.

<tags>catwar,costume-client,personal-costumes,catwar-uwu,modding,open-source,community,development,project,shutdown,archive,catwar</tags>

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” - Eleanor Roosevelt

<tags>quotes</tags>

“I can make that“ - Wishlists

So today we are back to our amazing show of “I Can Make That” where Aris tries to make something amazing or totally useless!!

This time our topic is “Wishlists”!

cough

Anywaysss!

Today we will be making a wishlist!

I was introduced to the concept of wishlists but especially the concept of online wishlists.

This was an interesting concept as one of my friends asked me to make one so they could see what I wanted for my birthday.

<tags>project,javascript,discord,Website,git,wishlist,discordjs,html,parser,Icanmakethat,bot,slashcommands</tags>

“The new year stands before us, like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written.” - Melody Beattie

<tags>quotes,2025</tags>

Its Christmas Time!! ☃️

It’s Christmas Time everyoneee!

I hope you all have had an amazing year so far. I want to make a post to first wish you all a Merry Christmas and then to let you know what I have been up to.

Now you will see that my last post was uh…. July 4 😅

Unfortunately, I haven’t had the time to make any posts buttt I have been working on some projects!

<tags>Christmas,Advent of Code,C#,Costume Client,CatWar,project,2024,servers,github</tags>

“Shoot for the moon even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.” - Norman Vincent Peale

<tags>quotes</tags>

“I can make that“ - Elementary Cellular Automata

Elooooo! We are back!!!

Now I might have been gone for a bit… but! I have a good reason… uh-

My reason is: *Reason 404 not found*

Anyways! Elementary Cellular Automata!

A couple of days ago I saw a video by The Coding Train on Elementary Cellular Automata and I had the urge to make it myself in the future.

Now I am working on another project which is a huge project and I am going to use C and SDL2

<tags>project,make,c,sdl2,elementary-cellular-automata,wolfam,gcc,msys2,graphics,programming,coding</tags>

“In this game, everyone needs a break to refuel, recharge, and jump back in full throttle.” - Helen Edwards

<tags>quotes</tags>

Making a Quote Test Website!

So I have been gone for a long time (again haha).

This is because I was working on a new project which I like to call the Quote Test Website which you can find at https://quotes.arisamiga.rocks/

The idea is simple, you can test your knowledge of quotes from various sources by having to fill in the missing words in a “quote test”.

I would like to show you some of the features of the website.

<tags>Website,project,quote-test,educational,testing,html,css,javascript,premade-quotes,english,learning,quiz,teaching,easytouse</tags>

“A day without sunshine is like, you know, night.” - Steve Martin

<tags>quotes</tags>

“I can make that!“ - Valentine's Day

So It has been some time since my last post but I am thinking of starting a new kind of post which I call “I can make that!“.

It will be a post about something that I saw either online or as a project and I thought to myself “I can make that!“.

With the start of the new year we have a new release Mnemosyne 1.2.0!

This is a MINOR release for Mnemosyne.

There are a few new features and a few bug fixes.

Some features include that you can now use ToolTypes!

I wanted to wish everyone an amazing Christmas and Happy Holidays. I hope everyone has an amazing time during this Christmas time :D

So I have been working on some things in the past weeks so let’s get started!

Amiga Tool Jam

It has started to snow early in the lands of https://arisamiga.rocks but also Here!

Note: For information on how I made the snow on my website you can check out Merry Christmas Everyone!

So… it’s the beginning of December you know what that means!

It’s time for Advent of Code!

I have already started doing it and I am having a lot of fun with it!

I added a search engine to the blog so it is easier to navigate and also find specific things that I have previously talked about.

It works by searching through a JSON Object provided by Hugo which contains all the posts contents.

We do that by using the following lines to create the JSON Object:

{{- $result := slice -}}
{{- range (where .Site.RegularPages "Section" "!=" "") -}}
{{- $data := dict "title" .Title "content" .Plain "id" .File.UniqueID "url" .Permalink "tags" .Params.tags -}}
{{- $result = $result | append $data -}}
{{- end -}}

Let’s go through the Hugo code:

<tags>website,hugo,javascript,search,blog,updates,feature,project,html,regex</tags>

“The problem is not the problem.

This is mostly a PATCH release for Mnemosyne.

There was a report of a bug found by @bubbob42 which broke the MangWall when performing a search.

The bug was happening mostly on A2000 and A4000 machines and was causing a damaged MangWall. I was able to fix the problem with a tool called WipeOut

What is WipeOut?

WipeOut is a tool that traces and munges memory and detects memory trashing.

<tags>Mnemosyne,Amiga,Debugging,tools,coding,project,release,wipeout</tags>

“A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men.” — Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

<tags>quotes</tags>

Happy Halloween!
Unfortunately, I didn’t have much time because of school and other things.

But I have been working on Mnemosyne and I have some exciting news!

There have been 2 Releases recently for Mnemosyne.

The first one is a Patch Release and the second one is a Minor Release.

One of the Releases is Mnemosyne 1.0.2 and the other Release is Mnemosyne 1.1.0.

<tags>Amiga,Mnemosyne,Github,Aminet,project,Amiga Tool Jam,Halloween,Semantic Versioning,ClassAct33</tags>

“It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get up.” - Vince Lombardi

<tags>quotes</tags>

Mnemosyne 1.0.1 Release!

So I think you have realised that this post was not posted on Sunday. That is because I have been working on a new release of Mnemosyne.

It’s a Patch release but it’s still a pretty exciting one.

That means that not many new features have been added but there have been some bug fixes.

As part of the Amiga Tool Jam I have finished my first ever Amiga Application!

It’s called Mnemosyne like the Greek Goddess of Memory.

Mnemosyne is an open-source disk utility application for AmigaOS 3.2, which can be used to show you what files and folders are taking up space on your disk.

It is written in C and utilizes NDK 3.2 and ReAction.

<tags>Amiga,Development,NDK,ReAction,Github,Actions,Docker,Aminet,project,Mnemosyne,Amiga Tool Jam</tags>

“If you let your head get too big, it'll break your neck.” - Elvis Presley

<tags>quotes</tags>

Debugging In Amiga

So recently I have been trying to make my tool as good as possible and I am trying to make it as bug-free as possible. (Ie. Not make your Amiga crash)

This requires that we debug it find the bugs and fix them.

So I am currently trying to debug my tool and I am trying to find the bugs and fix them.

I am using FS-UAE to emulate the Amiga and when we specifically want to debug an application we should use a CPU That has MMU (Memory Management Unit).

<tags>Amiga,Debugging,Tools,Programming,project,segtracker,muforce,muguardianangel,findhunkoffset</tags>

“It is not the answer that enlightens, but the question.” - Eugene Ionesco

<tags>quotes</tags>

Making a AmigaGuide guide.

So as you have seen in my previous posts I am working on my Tool for the Amiga Tool Jam.

As I have almost finished with that I have started writing the documentation and the instructions on how to use it.

Now you usually would write your instructions on a text file like a “readme.txt” or a “readme.md” file. However, I was introduced to a new file format called AmigaGuide.

<tags>project,Amiga,AmigaGuide,documentation,amigatooljam</tags>

“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells.” - Dr. Seuss

<tags>quotes</tags>

Using ESlint and Prettier!

So recently I have been working on my Discord-Ticket-Bot which is a bot to manage and create tickets on Discord.

With it getting a new update it includes the use of ESlint and Prettier, I thought I would write a blog post on how to use them and why you should use them.

What is ESlint and Prettier?

ESlint is a tool for identifying and reporting patterns found in ECMAScript/JavaScript code, with the goal of making code more consistent and avoiding bugs.

<tags>project,eslint,prettier,javascript,typescript,react,code,github,discord,formatting,code quality</tags>

“Live each day like it's your second to the last.
So I have been learning C for the past while as I have mentioned in my previous posts and I have been learning about memory management in C.

What is Memory Management?

Memory management is the process of controlling and coordinating computer memory, assigning portions called blocks to various running programs to optimize overall system performance.

So I have been learning about how to allocate memory in C and how to free it.

<tags>c,programming,memory,management,project,amiga,learning</tags>

“If every instinct you have is wrong, then the opposite would have to be right.” - Jerry Seinfeld, Seinfeld

<tags>quotes</tags>

Making a New Friend!

So recently I have been thinking of projects to do with my Raspberry Pi and my Display Until I came across this video by NetworkChuck

I have been interested a lot in Cybersecurity and how it works.

In the video, there is a mention of something called a ‘Pwnagotchi’.

<tags>project,raspberrypi,pwnagotchi,cybersecurity,ai,hacking,wifi,Networking</tags>

“A laugh can be a very powerful thing.

What is Makefile?

Makefiles are a simple way to organize code compilation. It is a way of automating software building procedures and other complex tasks with dependencies.

I used Makefile for compiling my C code and it is really useful.

How to use Makefile?

First, you need to create a file called
Makefile
in your project directory.

<tags>project,programming,c,makefile,amiga,compiling,coding,make</tags>

“The bad news is time flies.

So as summer begins that means that I am gonna be able to be able to have more time to work on projects but also to learn more things!

I currently have a few ideas of things I want to learn so what I want to do during summer is focus more on learning than on projects.

So blog posts will be a bit more about what new things I am learning rather than actual projects.

<tags>Summer,Amiga,Tool Jam,HTML,Javascript,Website,Learning,project</tags>

“Oh yes, the past can hurt.
I disregarded it for a bit but recently because of the weather I found myself checking multiple weather sources for the weather and thought about making a weather app but having multiple sources for the weather!

So that is the plan!

Let’s Go!

We are gonna be making the weather app with Html, CSS, and Javascript.

<tags>html,css,javascript,api,project,weather,grid</tags>

“A clear conscience is a sure sign of a bad memory.” - Mark Twain

<tags>quotes</tags>

Tic-Tac-Toe.

So yea. We making Tic-Tac-Toe.

Why? Why not?

What is Tic-Tac-Toe?

Tic-Tac-Toe is a game where you have a 3x3 grid and you have to get 3 of your symbols in a row to win. The symbols can be X or O.

How do you play Tic-Tac-Toe?

You play Tic-Tac-Toe by placing your symbol in an empty space in the grid. The first player to get 3 of their symbols in a row wins. (Horizontal, Vertical, or Diagonal).

<tags>HTML,CSS,Javascript,project,Tic-Tac-Toe,Game</tags>

“Remember, today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.” - Dale Carnegie

<tags>quotes</tags>

Continuous Integration With GitHub Actions

So recently I have been working on one of my past projects Linkedin-RSS which I made here Making integration between RSS and LinkedIn and I have been working on adding Continuous Integration to it using GitHub Actions.

What is Continuous Integration?

Continuous Integration is a software development practice where automated builds and tests are run. By doing so, you can detect errors quickly, and locate them more easily.

What are GitHub Actions?

<tags>project,Github,Github Actions,Javascript,NodeJS,CI,Continuous Integration</tags>

“You must learn from the mistakes of others.

What is Gemini?

Gemini is an internet protocol that is very similar to the HTTP protocol that we use today. The main difference is that Gemini is a text-based protocol which means that it is a lot faster and safer than HTTP.

What is an internet protocol?

An internet protocol is a set of rules that are used to communicate between computers. For example, HTTP is an internet protocol that is used to communicate between computers on the internet.

<tags>gemini,text-based,protocol,internet,ascii-art,docker,traefik,markdown,md2gemini,python,gemini-capsule,gemini-protocol,project</tags>

“If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door.” - Milton Berle

<tags>quotes</tags>

Making a mail detection system

So a couple of weeks ago I saw myself checking the mailbox frequently and I thought to myself: “Is there a more <del>lazy</del> easier way to do this?”.

A couple of weeks ago I made a project called Spying on the Sun using a Photoresistor and I thought that I could use the same principle to detect if there is mail in the mailbox.

I thought it would be a good idea to share it with you.

What is Discord?

Discord is a chat platform that is used by many people to communicate with each other. It is very similar to Slack, but it is free and has a lot of features. It is also very popular among gamers.

<tags>project,discord,javascript,nodejs,discord.js,reminder,meeting</tags>

“The inner machinations of my mind are an enigma.” - Patrick Star

<tags>quotes</tags>

Spying on the Sun using a Photoresistor

So today I did something quite different. I used a light sensor to spy on the sun kinda.

I have always wondered at what exact time and at what rate the sun rises and sets. I have always been curious about this. So I decided to make a project to find out.

So I used a Photoresistor to measure the amount of light that was hitting the sensor. I then used a Raspberry Pi Zero W which I previously used for a previous project ( Making a retro bag! ) to record the data and plot it on a graph.

<tags>raspberry pi,photoresistor,light sensor,sun,project,python,flask,chart.js</tags>

“Don’t worry about the world coming to an end today.
NDK - New Documentation Search Engine.

I have made some improvements to the search engine and I will show you what I have done and the reason why I have each change.

I replaced the way of storing the data from an Array to a Map

So in the last post, I used an array to store the data. But I have found out that it is better to use a map instead of an array. So I have replaced the array with a map.

<tags>ndk,project,javascript,Search,Documentation,updates,Website,amiga</tags>

“I am ready to face any challenge that might be foolish enough to face me.” - Dwight Schrute

<tags>quotes</tags>

NDK - New Documentation Search Engine

Hello Everyone!

So Lately I have been working on Learning C as I explained in my last blog post which you find here: New Year, New Language!.

Now I have been working with C and with the Amiga and I wanted to create a program where it would create a window.

Now to create an interactive window we have to use something called an NDK.

What’s an NDK?

NDK stands for Native Developer Kit and it is a set of tools and documentation for tinkering with the Amiga at the operating system level or slightly below that.

<tags>project,amiga,ndk,Documentation,Search,javascript,Website,c,development</tags>

“As you get older, three things happen.
So Recently I have been interested in learning C specifically because of the Amiga.

What’s an Amiga?

Amiga is a family of personal computers introduced by Commodore in 1985. The original model is one of a number of mid-1980s computers with 16- or 16/32-bit processors, 256 KB or more of RAM, mouse-based GUIs, and significantly improved graphics and audio compared to previous 8-bit systems.

I always have wanted to learn C and now I can use the Amiga as a platform to learn it!

<tags>project,amiga,c,programming,language,learning,new,2023</tags>

Happy New Year Everyone!
It has started snowing at arisamiga.rocks aswell as blog.arisamiga.rocks!

The snow is made possible by utilizing the
@keyframes
and
@-webkit-keyframes
CSS properties as well as
animation
which can be found here https://www.w3schools.com/css/css3_animations.asp.

Example: This makes the snowflakes move from the top of the screen to the bottom.

@keyframes snowflakes-fall {
0% {
top: -10%
}

100% {
top: 100%
}
}

And then you can call that animation in the snowflake divs by using the
animation
property.

<tags>project,Christmas,CSS,HTML,NewYear</tags>

“You’re only given a little spark of madness.
This past week its been quite busy. I have made a new design for my website.

In the past, I have redesigned how my website looked New Website, Who Dis?

But I Had a
start
command to redirect to the old website

But it didn’t match the new design of the website.

So I decided to redesign it to something like a GUI

<tags>project,Website,Javascript,Advent of Code,GUI,Python</tags>

“Always laugh when you can, it is cheap medicine.” - Lord Byron

<tags>quotes</tags>

Messing with Minecraft's Code

Hello!

For a long time, I have been a fan of the popular block game Minecraft and I always was wondering how does it work?

I have been trying to find a way to see the code of Minecraft but I couldn’t find a way to do it.

Then I found a video by LiveOverflow where he reversed engineered Minecraft code and explains how it works.

I was very interested in this and I wanted to try it out myself.

<tags>Minecraft,Java,Code,project,Modding,Fabric</tags>

“Never follow anyone else’s path, unless you’re in the woods and you’re lost.” - Ellen DeGeneres

<tags>quotes</tags>

Making integration between RSS and LinkedIn

Hello!

Today I decided to make a project that will allow me to post my blog posts on LinkedIn. I have been thinking of doing this for a while but I never got around to doing it. I decided to do it today as I never used the LinkedIn API and RSS and I was very interested in making something from them.

ㅤ

ㅤ

What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It’s a web feed that allows users and applications to access updates to websites in a standardized, computer-readable format.

<tags>project,Blog,Github,RSS,LinkedIn,Javascript,NodeJS</tags>

“When tempted to fight fire with fire, remember that the Fire Department usually uses water.” - Unknown

<tags>quotes</tags>

Happy Halloween!

For this amazing time of the year I have made a “special” app on my website for you to enjoy.

You can go to https://arisamiga.rocks and type the
halloween
command to see a show! (Be aware it includes music aswell ;)

I have been using this website for a long time for experimenting with website making and I always wanted to revamp it.

(This is how it looked.)

I have been interested in the design of Terminals and especially Ubuntu Terminals

So I decided that maybe I can make a website that behaves kinda like a terminal and have all the information in the form of commands.

<tags>Website,Javascript,Terminal,Ubuntu,project</tags>

“Think like a proton.
So let’s talk about feedback.

Feedback is great as it helps you improve your work and get better at what you do. It also helps you to see what you are doing wrong and what you are doing right. It is also a great way to get better at what you do.

Before I used a feedback system by Appzi which was great!

It had quite a few features and was easy to use. I was able to integrate it with github and it was able to report everything to me using github issues.

<tags>project,Github,appzi,nodejs,javascript,feedback,CSS</tags>

“Life is like a sewer… what you get out of it depends on what you put into it.” - Tom Lehrer

<tags>quotes</tags>

My Github Table

Soooooo There is this thing called Github ReadMe.

Mostly used for repositories to explain their function and to provide information to a person that is viewing them. But Github has done something different. If you replace the name of the repository with the same name as your github username then it will show that this repository is a special one

As it shows here with mine.

So. What is Docker?

Docker is a tool that allows you to run applications in a containerized environment. It is a great tool for developers and sysadmins as it allows you to run applications in a sandboxed environment that is isolated from the host system. This allows you to run multiple applications in the same system without having to worry about conflicts between them.

Docker allows you to run an application in something called a “Container” which is an environment that is isolated from the host system. It is especially useful in cases where you need to have libraries or packages with different versions in the same system.

<tags>Docker,Tools</tags>

“First, solve the problem.
They provided us with websites that show work experiences specifically for the Transition year which are

https://careersportal.ie/

https://ty.ie/

Then they told us to look daily on these websites for experiences as most work experiences are “first come, first served” which means that they are gonna get whoever applies first.

<tags>project,ty,ty.ie,careersportal,Node.js,discord.js,API,Transition Year</tags>

“There are no regrets in life, just lessons.” – Jennifer Aniston

<tags>quotes</tags>

Google Ad Terminator

In the past months, I have been working on a Chrome/Firefox extension called “ADTerminator”

When researching or doing things such as debugging or just casually browsing I have noticed that sometimes Google will push websites that will be dangerous or straight up wrong and tag them as “Ads” on top of the search results

This Gamejam was a 10-day game jam hosted by Programancer with an emphasis on simulating the 8-bit/16-bit era! Low resolution, small palettes, chiptunes, and everything that made gaming in the early 90s great!

The Gamejam run from July 1st, 2022 to the end of July 10th, 2022

The idea of joining a Gamejam always intrigued me especially as I picked up learning Godot for the past 5 months working on small games and as finally, Summer time arrived I decided to join one with my friend Efefsok.

<tags>Gamejam,project,Godot,itchio,SlimeJump</tags>

Making a blog!

Hello!

I’ve been thinking of making a blog for a while but every time I decided to not go through with the idea of a blog as I thought it was a waste of time. Finally, I thought about it and realized that making a blog will be very beneficial.

To showcase projects but also to have a platform where I can write things like tips that I found and my experiences from projects which can benefit some people and my future self in understanding what I was thinking.

<tags>markdown,project,text,blog,Hugo,Github</tags>

Test

Hello World

<tags>markdown,text</tags>
